Richard Wagner wrote his great opera Tannhäuser in 1845. The famous Grand March occurs in Act II, Scene 4, as Elizabeth and Landgrave watch guests arrive for the Sängerkrieg (Song Contest).  The Grand March, also known as the "Entrance of the Guests" features an exciting fanfare with magnificent choral-style writing that has been beautifully arranged for 11-part Brass Ensemble with Timpani and Percussion by Thomas Jöstlein. It is appropriate for advanced performers.

Mr. Jöstlein's arrangement is dedicated to the Wagner Society of New York and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra Brass Section.

Instrumentation is for: 3 Trumpets in C, 4 Horns in F, 3 Trombones, Tuba, Timpani & Percussion.
