Martin Luther harmonized Savior of Nations, Come and used it as an Advent Hymn in 1523. The Hymn itself was composed by St. Ambrose of Milan around 390 AD, and was translated by Luther from Latin into German as Nun Komm der Heiden Heiland.

Jörg Richter has beautifully arranged the Chorale melody plus three variations for Trombone Trio. It is a lovely work, suitable for intermediate performers and above, all in bass clef.
