The seven Penitential Psalms (6, 32, 38, 51, 102, 130, \u0026amp; 143 in Anglican numbering) have been \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ein specific liturgical use from early in Western Christianity and therefore were a significant o\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eff\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eer to his patron. The numbers in his collection indicates the mode of the setting, rather than the number of the psalm.
