Ralph Sauer has compiled a set of Three Pieces for Trombone and Piano by Modest Mussorgsky. They are delightful, relatively unknown works for Piano, Impromptu passionné (Schumanesquely romantic) written very early on, A Teardrop (very sad) and Near the Southern Shore of the Crimea (a riotous, rhythmically passionate dance). The last two works were written towards the sad ending of his life.

They are appropriate for advanced performers and total about 10 minutes in length.
