Betsy Schramm has written a new work The Four Seasons Suite for Flugelhorn:

I. Fall’s Fanfare: The rising lines and fluttering rhythms of fall leaves and autumn breezes punctuate this opening movement.

II. Winter’s Pale Sun: A much more sombre tempo and mood and musical descriptions of the pale winter sun rising.

III. Spring’s Running Brooks: This movement, an homage to Johann Sebastian Bach, with its opening scalar pattern and the lilt of the rising and falling lines, rhythmic interaction of different patterns and tempo and pitch all reflect a babbling brook.

IV. Summer’s Ocean Waves: Self explanatory the constantly moving water and waves of the powerful ocean.

A brilliant new work suitable for advanced performers about 7 minutes in length.
