Fire and Ice Volume I for Trombone Trio and Percussion is a unique chamber work for high school or college-aged performers with an original Superhero theme.

Jason Beghtol has written a two-chapter/movement work including storyline and graphics that tells the adventure of this incredible man with a bionic body. The work in two chapters/movements is about 8 minutes in length. The two chapter movements are I. The Beginning, II. On The Run.

The percussion part is intended to be performed by one musician and is for untuned instruments: Tom toms, Bass Drum, Claves, Shekere, Suspended Cymbal, Temple Blocks, Tambourine, Congas, Hammer & Anvil and Snare Drum.

The combination of the instrumentation and the tonality gives this work an enticing and earthy sound for the senses.
