Romance, Op. 23 by Amy Beach was composed in 1893 as a violin solo and dedicated to the famous American violinist Maud Powell who premiered the work with Beach in the same year at the World Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

Romance showcases the talents of both performers. The music evokes emotions of love, longing, yearning and intimacy, a true Romance. Its delicate beauty along with dramatic moments make this work a captivating musical journey.
