The Seasons is a set of twelve short character pieces written on commission in 1875 for solo piano, based on a month of the year in Russia. Autumn Song represents the month of October. (Wikipedia)

Each movement was first issued individually, in monthly issues of the journal Nuvellist during the year 1876.
