Gordon Cherry has been running Cherry Classics for over 20 years. He is a leading professional Trombonist in North America, having performed as Principal Trombonist of the Vancouver Symphony, and the CBC Radio Orchestra. As well, Gordon has taught hundreds of Brass students for over 30 years at the University of British Columbia and many international leading music festivals.

Johannes Brahms' Selig sind, die da Leid tragen (Blessed are those who mourn) from his Deutches Requiem is the first movement of one of the great liturgical works. The music is tender, affirmative and loving.

Gordon Cherry and Randall Malmstrom have arranged this beautiful 9-minute work for 20-part Trombone Choir (in three choirs) with optional Organ (there is a 4 bar optional cut at the end if no organ). The instrumentation includes alto, tenor, bass, contrabass trombones and organ, suitable for advanced performers.
