Albrecht

Lisa Albrecht is Second Trombonist of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, Ms. Albrecht previously held positions with the Minnesota Orchestra, San Antonio Symphony and Honolulu Symphony. For several seasons she served as Assistant Principal Trombonist of the New York Philharmonic and toured with the orchestra internationally, including their ground breaking 2008 concert in Pyongyang, North Korea. She has performed with several orchestras around the world, among them the Metropolitan Opera, Mostly Mozart Festival, St. Louis Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony, Santa Fe Opera, Lucerne Festival Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Czech National Orchestra, St. Petersburg Orchestra, and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie. A New York-based free lancer for 15 years, she performed in over twenty Broadway productions, for radio, television and film. Taking a special interest in music of the Renaissance, she also enjoys performing on historical brass instruments. Her chamber music affiliations include the Summit Brass, Burning River Brass, New York Symphonic Brass, Proteus 7 and the Excelsior Trombone Ensemble. She has appeared as a soloist at the International Trombone Festival, Lieksa Brass Week (Finland), Eastern Trombone Workshop and the New York Brass Conference. She has also served on the faculty of the Eastman School of Music, the Juilliard School Pre-College Division and the University of Texas at San Antonio. She is currently on the faculty of the Eastman Community Music School.
