Birkness

Christian Birkness is currently an undergraduate Music Theory major at the Eastman School of Music. He studies tuba with Don Harry and composes and arranges music primarily for brass instruments. Christian frequently collaborates with “Tuba Mirum” (Eastman’s Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble); they have performed many of his pieces. Christian previously attended the Interlochen Arts Academy where he studied tuba with Tom Riccobono and composition with Cynthia Van Maanen.
