Converse

Andrew Converse is an Adjunct Professor of Music at Northwest Vista College where he teaches Applied Low Brass, Music Appreciation, and Music Theory. He is also Lecturer of Trombone at Texas A&M-Kingsville. Andrew is principal trombonist in the Mid-Texas Symphony. In addition, he performs regularly with the San Antonio Symphony and the Victoria Symphony. He has also performed with the Sioux City Symphony, South Texas Lyric Opera, the Grand Teton Music Festival, and the United States Air Force Heartland of America Brass in Blue. Andrew maintains an active chamber and solo music career in San Antonio. Andrew earned a Bachelor of Music from University of South Dakota. He was awarded a teaching assistantship at University of Nebraska where he earned a Master of Music degree and later a Doctor of Music Arts degree. His primary teachers have included Scott Anderson, Larry Mitchell, and Vance Shoemaker.
