Machell

David Machell, former Cambridge Choral Scholar and holder of several national and international awards for composition, is a composer, arranger, conductor and choirleader based in Nottingham,England, with a large catalogue of works from amateur to professional level, principally for brass and wind groups, choirs, churches and choral societies. His full-length choral piece “Gloria” was performed by the Nottingham Bach Society in 2012. Many young musicians will know his song “Hey Mister Miller” from UK nationwide “SingUp” programme. In the  genre of easy jazz, young players and professional players alike will be familiar with Dave Machell's  jazz duets for horns, "Boogie, Bop 'n' Blues" as well as his "Saga of Ragtime Frankie Series" (published by Virgo Music) from which the brass quintet "New Orleans Ragtime Wake" has been performed on British television, and his "Ragtime Frankie" (solo for Trumpet or Trombone with piano) and the unaccompanied solo, "Ragamuffin Rag", both of  which have been selected by the Confederation de Musicale de France and numerous USA schools by State Educational Associations.
