In high school, studied trombone with Oscar Nutter in Erie, PA (formerly 1st trombone with John Philip Sousa). Studied trombone with Emory Remington at Eastman School of Music. Graduated in 1969. Spent 2 years on the road with Clyde McCoy (who introduced the "Sugar Blues" in 1922). Moved to LA and freelanced for over 40 years, playing salsa, disco, pop, symphony, TV, movies, etc., Marvin Gaye, Celia Cruz, Smokey Robinson, American Idol, etc., etc., etc. Wrote and performed several compositions for trombone and orchestra, including "Doxology" and "Newspaper Suite." And had a lotta fun doin' it.
