Tempest

Jim Tempest is a freelance Bass Trombonist living in Vancouver, BC. As an instructor in the music department at Vancouver Community College, Jim teaches trombone students and leads a large brass ensemble, the Mount Pleasant Brass. Since 2008, Jim has arranged the majority of the repertoire the group performs, adapting everything from classics to pop tunes and jazz to suit the needs and instrumentation of the ensemble. His arrangements are battle tested and are pedagogically and audience driven. Jim is active as a conductor and is the musical director of the Delta Concert Band, one of the oldest community music organizations in British Columbia and the internationally acclaimed Band of the Fifteenth Field Regiment, part of the Canadian Army Reserve.
