Burnham

Bob Burnham was born and grew up in Kalamazoo Michigan, where he attended Western Michigan University. His earliest trombone studies were with Russell Brown. His Graduate studies were at Indiana University, studying with Thomas Beversdorf and Keith Brown. While at IU he was awarded the prestigious Performer's Certificate in trombone. He has been privileged to perform under Robert Shaw, Tibor Kozma, Aaron Copland, Morton Gould and Jose Serebrier, Geoffrey Gilbert, Frederick Fennell, Jerry Junkin, Merle Evans and Graeme Jenkins. Bob’s performing experience includes The Dallas Opera, Dallas Wind Symphony, The Dallas Chamber Orchestra, The Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus, Sammy Davis Jr. Tour, The Temptations, The 4 Tops, Sam and Dave, Percy Sledge and a nationally syndicated episode of Walker, Texas Ranger. He has taught at Collin County Community College, The Plano and Richardson Independent School Districts and maintains an active home studio. He is regularly in demand as a clinician and adjudicator. Other publications include: Kyrie for 12 trombones by G. Gabrieli and the March from the Tchaikovsky 6th Symphony, both published my Warwick Music.
