Croce
Giovanni Croce was in Italian composer of the late Renaissance of the Venetian School. He was particularity prominent as a madrigalist, one of the few among the Venetians other than Monteverdi and Andrea Gabrieli, whom he was influenced mostly by.
His duties while a young man included singing in the boy's choir at St. Marks. In his later years he influenced English composers Thomas Morley and John Dowland.
He is recognized historically for being the first composer to use continuo parts.
