Decker
Richard Decker, Eastman School of Music graduate with the Performer’s Certificate in Horn, is a former member of United States Army Band "Pershing's Own" of Washington, D.C., the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra Horn Section and toured and recorded with Chuck Mangione. After two decades of performance work with various ensembles including Eastman School of Music Philharmonia, Wind Ensemble and Studio Orchestra, Berkshire Music Center Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Eastman Arranger’s Holiday, Chautauqua School of Music Orchestra, Rochester Opera Under the Stars, Lake Placid Center for the Arts Orchestra, Richmond Symphony, Lynchburg Symphony, Spoleto Festival Orchestra, Genesee Valley Brass Quintet and the Circle Brass Trio, he continued his music career with thirty-one years as Artistic Administrator with both the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. He spent three years as Editor of the International Horn Society newsletter and contributed several articles to the IHS Horn Call and Horn Call Annual Journal and served as National Secretary to the International Conference of Symphony and Opera Musicians (ICSOM).
