David Fletcher is a trombonist, composer, and educator based in the Chicago area. He was born and raised in a musical family in Columbus, OH, and has been playing trombone and piano from a young age. Since then, music has taken him to New York, Chicago, Atlantic City, Toronto, and Italy to perform. David regularly performs with and writes for brass chamber ensemble Transit Brass, improvised music group Stream of Consciousness, and many other big bands, funk bands, salsa bands, and small groups. He graduated from Capital University in 2013 with a BM in trombone performance, and holds an MM in jazz studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he is currently pursuing a DMA.
