Friedrichs

Andrew Friedrichs is a trombonist and composer based in Colorado Springs, CO. He has played with a variety of ensembles including Colorado Symphony, Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Boulder Philharmonic, US Air Force Academy Band, Florida Grand Opera, and Palm Beach Symphony. He has seen success in the world of trombone auditions, having been named the winner for the U.S. Army “Pershing’s Own” Ceremonial Band, the U.S. Air Force "Heritage of America" Band, and a semi-finalist for the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. A winner of the Frost Concerto Competition, Andrew performed Paul Creston’s “Fantasy for Trombone and Orchestra” with the Frost Symphony Orchestra. Andrew holds a BM from Eastman School of Music and both and MM and a DMA from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. He is also an active arranger, conductor, producer, and jazz pianist.
