The late Lew Gillis (1927-1989) from Fort Worth, Texas was constantly in demand as a composer, arranger, teacher, conductor and trombonist in all facets of the music business. From symphony orchestras and handbell choirs to film scores and Big Bands (not to mention Miss Texas pageants, Bob Hope Shows, the TCU Marching Band, rodeos and jingles) Lew was kept constantly on the go. But he made time as he said in his own words, "to write for my true love ... Brass".
