The prestigious Phoenix Chamber Choir has performed his "All Things Bright and Beautiful", and has also recently commissioned a new work for the 2008-2009 season. Several of his piano pieces are published under British Columbia Conservatory of Music's "Conservatory Series". Eric was born in Japan where he started to play the piano at age 8, and also began to play the trumpet and trombone in elementary school. When his family moved to Canada in 2001, he began to take music more seriously and was involved in numerous high school ensembles including concert band, jazz band, chamber choir, and jazz choir. Outside of school, he also participated in several competitions, festivals, and musical organizations such as the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra. He completed his ARCT in Piano Performance with First Class Honors. He is also an avid jazzer, and has played piano and trombone in many types of settings.   Eric received the National Scholarship from the University of British Columbia, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music Degree in Composition under the direction of Stephen Chatman.
