Ory
Edward "Kid" Ory was a Louisiana French-speaking jazz trombonist and bandleader. Still in his youth he led a noted band. He developed the "tailgate" style of playing which came from his talent on the banjo. He was well known in New Orleans, then Los Angeles and finally Chicago, where he worked with the greats such as Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman and Charles Mingus. After the war he returned to New Orleans and his band was an important force in reviving interest in New Orleans jazz with live and recorded radio concerts. (Wikipedia)
