Raumerika
Erika Raum has a reputation as one of Canada's premiere violinists but she has also worked in composition. Her score to the film, "Remember In Between the Forget", won the Best Musical Score award for the Saskatchewan Film and Videos Awards in 1996. Her "Confessions of St. Augustine" for solo horn, was commissioned in 1999 by Jane Aspnes for unaccompanied French horn to be premiered in Rome during the Jubilee and Millennium Celebrations presented by Donne in Musica: Ill Paradosso dell’Amore.
Erika began studies for a masters degree in composition at the University of Toronto and completed one semester studying with Dr. Chan Ka Nin but her schedule as a chamber and solo violinist became too heavy to continue with the composition degree. She still, however, enjoys writing music as a hobby.
