Christopher Alan Schmitz composes original music for band, orchestra, choir, solo, chamber ensembles, electronic music, and feature film. Christopher’s music is performed internationally and appears on the PARMA and Beauport Classical recording labels. In 2007, he won the Sammy Nestico Award in jazz composition. Christopher currently serves as Professor of Music Theory and Composition at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in composition from the University of Texas at Austin.
