Wagner - Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral for 10-piece Trombone Ensemble (D-flat version)
Wagner's Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral (D-flat version) is newly transcribed for ten-piece Trombone Ensemble by Gordon Cherry, Principal Trombonist of the Vancouver Symphony. Wagner's grand, magnificent, spiritual work is for 2 Alto Trombones, 6 Tenor Trombones and 2 Bass Trombones.
The transcription is very tastefully done with detailed editing of phrasing and dynamics. It is six minutes in length can be performed with an ensemble of Ten Trombones or a Trombone Choir of many players. Wagner's composition is beautifully dramatic and will be a wonderful addition to your concert. The difficulty level is advanced for the top two parts, and high intermediate for the rest of the group. A solid college/university Trombone Ensemble can perform this work.
This work has been recorded by I Tromboni with members of the Vancouver Symphony and Vancouver Opera Orchestras. You can purchase the entire album from the I Tromboni web site at: www.itromboni.com
