Gustav Holst's Brook Green Suite was written in 1933 for the St. Paul Girl's School Orchestra of Strings. It is in three movements: 1. Prelude, 2. Air, and 3. Dance.

All three movements have folk elements to them. Prelude is a lovely easy-going folksong sitting on top of flowing scales. Air is a folksong in a lilting 3/4 minuet-style feel. Dance is a jaunty and speedy folk dance that leaves one breathless.

The name of the work is thought to have come from the location of the school on Brook Green in Hammersmith, London. The piece is composed in a more traditional idiom than most of his later pieces.

Justin Chiang has beautifully arranged this work for trombone quintet. It is about 6 minutes in length and is suitable for moderately advanced performers.
