Fantasy for Trombone by Elizabeth Raum was written in 1981 as a Christmas present for her husband Richard Raum while they were both members of the Regina Symphony. Ms. Raum is a highly respected Canadian composer with a catalog of outstanding compositions, many featuring members of the brass family. Fantasy for Trombone and Chamber Orchestra is newly arranged by trombonist Jackson Howard which he premiered at the 2024 PRISMA Festival in Powell River British Columbia as winner of its annual Concerto Competition .

Fantasy is dramatic, lyrical and very expressive, making it an ideal choice to feature your favorite trombone soloist.

The work has gained immense popularity since its debut, having been performed and recorded by major artists worldwide. It is 6 1/2 minutes in length and appropriate for advanced performers.

The instrumentation is for: Solo Trombone, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Strings and Timpani.
