Schumann - Kinderszenen (Scenes From Childhood) selections for Euphonium/Tuba Quartet
Kinderszenen, Opus 15 (Scenes from Childhood) is a collection of thirteen short vignettes that Schumann composed for Piano in 1838. They are reminiscences of his childhood, seven selections of which have been beautifully scored for Euphonium/Tuba Quartet by Robert Coulter. The most well known of the movements is Tråumerei (Dreaming) and has been used in movies to portray love scenes because of its tenderness and beauty.
The music is appropriate for advanced performers and the collection of 9 minutes contains some very sublime and poetic music.
