He is a leading professional Trombonist in North America, having performed as Principal Trombonist of the Vancouver Symphony, and the CBC Radio Orchestra. The Holberg Suite, by Edvard Grieg was originally written for the Piano and later arranged for String Orchestra. The composition is a suite in five movements. It was written in 1884, based on 18th century dance forms and dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Norwegian playwright, Ludvig Holberg. It is a charming example of Neo-Classicism, attempting to echo the music from Holberg's era of the 17th Century.

James Haynor has once again done a splendid job of scoring a major new work for Brass Ensemble.

The work is appropriate for advanced musicians and about 15 minutes in length.
