The Adagio from Symphony No. 3 (also known as the Organ Symphony) is part of the final movement of this great symphony by Saint-Saëns. The music is deeply felt and conveys great spiritual conviction. Mr. Sauer's new arrangement has used all of Saint-Saen's music and he has scored it for eight Trombones with an optional 9th part on Contra Bass Trombone.

The Adagio was one of the "Chief's" (Emory Remington's) favorites; The late Mrs. Laura Remington had been the long-time Organist with the Rochester Philharmonic and hearing the music would bring back a flood of memories often with tears.

This music is about nine minutes in length and can be performed by moderately advanced players. Some of the parts are in Tenor Clef.

Sound clip is from a group of Los Angeles Trombonists.
