Handel's "Arrival of the Queen of Sheba" from the oratorio "Solomon" is one of his many biblical oratorios and was first performed in 1748. Sheba, the powerful Queen and her entourage, travels to the Holy Temple in Jerusalem to meet the wise King Solomon. Tradition states that after Solomon correctly answered the riddle that she asked, a romance developed. From this encounter Sheba bore Solomon's child, King Menelek, the founder of the Ethiopian empire.

This beautiful arrangement by Baroque artist Justin Bland is of about 3.5 minutes in length, scored for 6 Trumpets and is suitable for advanced performers. The instrumentation is for 2 Piccolo Trumpets in B-flat, 2 Trumpets in E-flat and 2 Trumpets in B-flat.

The work has a joyous, regal and fanfare-like feel.
