Gordon Cherry has been running Cherry Classics for over 20 years. He is a leading professional Trombonist in North America, having performed as Principal Trombonist of the Vancouver Symphony, and the CBC Radio Orchestra. As well, Gordon has taught hundreds of Brass students for over 30 years at the University of British Columbia and many international leading music festivals.

Randy Aldcroft has written Famous Jazz Duets for Trumpet & Trombone, Volume 1. The 3 volumes of Duets were written for intermediate and advanced students interested in learning to play in the different Jazz styles. The range of notes gets higher and the duets get harder with each of the three volumes Randy has written. All keys are covered in the three volumes.

Styles covered in volume 1 include, Swing, Rock, Funk, Bossa Nova, Jazz Waltz and Ballad.

Chord changes are included to help learn the musical structure and chord progressions, allowing the Duets to be played with a rhythm section if desired.

The Duets are perfect for student and teacher to work on at lessons, and several of them can be programmed together as a medley on a concert or recital.

The Trumpet part is in B-flat. The sound file below is No. 1 (Swing Style) of 12 duets.
