Details

Funeral March by Edvard Grieg was written originally for Piano in 1866 after he heard of the death of his close friend and musical colleague, Richard Nordraak, a fellow Norwegian. He later arranged the work for military band and then for brass choir. He valued this work so greatly that he asked for it to be performed at his own funeral.

Beautifully arranged for 12-part Brass Choir by Jim Tempest this 7-minute work is suitable for moderately advanced performers. The instrumentation is for 3 Trumpets in B-flat, Flugelhorn, 2 Horns, 3 Trombones, 2 Euphoniums and a Tuba.
