He is a leading professional Trombonist in North America, having performed as Principal Trombonist of the Vancouver Symphony, and the CBC Radio Orchestra. L'enfant et les Sortilèges by Maurice Ravel is a one act opera first performed in 1925. This magical work took the composer over 8 years to write and seemed to be inspired by Gershwin and American operettas of the time. He described the style of the work as "melody, bel canto, vocalises and vocal virtuosity". This is perfect for the soloist of this arrangement.
